In July 1864,Katsura Kogoro and his group of revolutionists had lost their battle between them and Edo shogunate. After their defeat, Katsura had escaped from Kyoto and hid himself in the small onsen inn in Kinosaki. He stayed at Tsutaya for Three months. After he returned to Choshu(Yamaguchi pref.), he and Sakamoto Ryoma put great time and effort to unite two groupes of people. One was Mourihan-group, which he registered himself, and the other was Shimazuhan-group. By these young powerful revolutionists, they have finally won the battle over Edo Shogunate. This Meiji Restoration had truely opened the door to modern Japan. |
