Born in Kaminogo, Hidaka Town, Kinosaki Gun, Hyogo Prefecture on February 12, 1941.
A world-famous adventurer. He was the first Japanese to reach the summit of Mt. Everest and has climbed the highest peaks on five continents for the first time in the world. He was awarded various prizes like National Honor Prize and Barerin Sports Prize.
