The Mukoyama Method of Teaching Math

for J.H.S students

It is necessary for children to acquire primary skills of math for lifelong learning. The Mukoyama Method of Teaching Math is very useful to achive these aims. We'll intoroduce the essence of the Mukoyama Method.
Using the Mukoyama Method of Teaching Math, teachers will see the following:

1. Average test score go up.
2. Students begin to like a math.
3. Student's parents say "We are so grateful for the Mukoyama method of teaching math."

So, teachers have come to feel confident for teaching math. The Mukoyama Method of Teaching Math says the following:

1. Teaching with a math textbook as opposed to teaching from a math textbook.
2. The rhythm and tempo of teaching is important. Tempo is speed, and rhythm is repeated with speed.
3. Teachers do not have to explain for a long time. No explnation, the rhythm and tempo of teaching, use small steps for problem solving.
4. Use small steps for problem solving.
5. Improve students' mathematical note taking skills. All student's notes are neat and orderly because they use a mini ruler. For example they use their rulers for writing fractions and arrows in their notebooks.
6. If student cannot solve problems, the teacher says to them over and over again, "Write an answer from the blackbord. It is no good that you do not write anything down in your notebook."
7. Students check their own answers, and the teacher then checks what they have done. Problem solving is very important for learning mathematics.
