比較の文 more ______ than、the most _______の導入場面

　「比較の文 _______er than の導入場面」、「比較の文 the _______ est の導入場面」に関連づけ、more _______ than 、the most _______est を導入してみた。

＜指導の実際＞

JTE: I've heard some Japanese cartoon characters are popular in the United States.
　　　What are they?

ALT: Well, Pikachu is popular. Astro Boy is popular, too.

JTE:（強調しながら）
　　　 Which is more popular, Pikachu or Astro Boy?

ALT: Pikachu is.

　　　（強調しながら）
　　　Pikachu is more popular than Astro Boy.

JTE: How about other popular Japanese cartoon chracters?

ALT: Well, Speed Racer and Sailor Moon.

JTE: （強調しながら）
　　　 What is the most popular Japanese cartoon character in the United States?

ALT: Pikachu is.

　　　（強調しながら）
　　　 Pikachu is the most popular Japanese cartoon character in the United States.

＜板　書＞

Pikachu is more popular than Astro Boy in the U.S.	more 形容詞 + than 〜 　　　〜より・・・

　「more、the most の後ろには、比較的発音の長い形容詞がくる」と簡単に説明し、次の語を例としてあげておいた。

popular、difficult、beautiful、 interesting

＊ "Atro Boy"（鉄腕アトム）、"Speed Racer"（マッハ・ゴー・ゴー）など、日本語のタイトルと英語のタイトルの違うものについては、生徒に "Do you know Astro Boy?" などとたずねてみた。"Atro Boy" は答えられた生徒もいたが、"Speed Racer"が答えられた生徒はいなかった。しかし、ALTがその英語版のテーマソングを口ずさむと、「あっ、知ってる！」という声が少人数ではあったがあがった。"Speed Racer"がアメリカ合衆国で有名であることを知らせるのもおもしろいことであると思う。
