＜準備物＞
自分自身の幼い頃（３歳か４歳）の写真（スキャナーで取り込み、Ａ４版に拡大したもの）
教師： Look at this picture. Oh, a cute boy! Who's this?
生徒たち：（笑い声をあげながら）Mr. Taniguchi!
教師： Yes, it's me. He looks happy. He is smiling.
He smiles when he is happy.（くり返す）

He smiles when he is happy.
このあと、文と文とをつなぐはたらきのある接続詞の意味を簡単に説明した。
また、疑問詞 when との違いも説明してやった。
